Three arrested in connection with gold robbery at Wassa Afransie

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in a gold robbery.

The incident occurred at Wassa Afransie in the Western Region.

The suspects are Felix Adjei (alias Africa or Nana Adjei), Emmanuel Kelvin, and Kofi Appiah (alias Kesse).

They are accused of stealing gold worth GH₵199,000 from Mas Palasco Gold Buying Limited.

On April 4, 2025, Kofi Appiah and his colleague Emmanuel Adu were ambushed.

They were returning from Wassa Ayiem after collecting gold from a client.

Armed assailants fired shots during the attack.

The attackers stole 14 pounds of gold, two mobile phones, and a car.

The stolen Toyota Corolla was later found abandoned nearby.

Police arrested Appiah on April 21 at his home in Wassa Akropong.

The other two suspects were tracked down soon after.

During the operation, police found several weapons and ammunition.

These included a Jojeff pump-action gun and a Calymm PDS pistol.

They also discovered GH₵65,000 believed to be robbery proceeds.

The suspects are currently in police custody for further investigation.

They will be charged and brought before the court soon.
