The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a 24-hour weather forecast. This morning, mist and fog patches are expected along the coastline, forested areas, and mountainous zones. Thunderstorms and rain are predicted later in the day.
The day will start partly cloudy across most of the country. Mist and fog will be common along the coast and in northern and central highlands. As the day goes on, sunny weather will take over with some clouds in certain areas.
From late afternoon into evening, thunderstorms and rain are forecasted for the middle, transition, and parts of northern regions. Inland areas along the west coast may also see thunderstorms or rain from late morning to mid-afternoon.
Cities across Ghana will experience varied weather conditions today. Afternoon temperatures will range from low to mid-30s Celsius. Here’s a summary for major cities:
Accra: Partly cloudy this morning; sunny later with a high of 33°C. Evening temperatures will drop to 28°C.
Kumasi: Cloudy start; sunny later with a high of 34°C. Thunderstorms expected in the evening with temperatures around 28°C.
Takoradi: Misty conditions this morning at 24°C; thunderstorms expected in the afternoon with highs reaching 32°C.
Tamale: Partly cloudy at 27°C; sunny later with highs of 37°C. Thunderstorms expected in the evening at 29°C.
Koforidua: Misty morning at 25°C; thunderstorms expected later. Evening temperatures will be around 29°C.
Bole: Partly cloudy at 35°C; thunderstorms expected in the afternoon. Temperatures will dip to 30°C in the evening.
Wa: Partly cloudy this morning; thunderstorms forecasted for afternoon highs of 36°C. Evening temperatures around 28°C are expected.
Residents should stay alert for possible rain and thunderstorms, especially in northern and middle regions. The public is advised to take precautions due to misty conditions that may affect visibility along coastal and mountainous areas.
