Thunderstorms expected in Accra, Kasoa, Kumasi and Tamale this evening

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has released a 24-hour weather forecast.

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, expect misty conditions, sunshine, and thunderstorms.

In the early morning, mist and fog will develop in mountainous areas.

There is a 40% chance of thunderstorms along coastal and inland regions.

This includes cities like Accra, Kasoa, Cape Coast, Axim, and Aflao.

As the day goes on, most of the country will see sunny intervals.

Occasional cloud cover is also expected throughout the day.

However, from late afternoon to evening, isolated thunderstorms may occur.

These storms could affect the middle belt and northern parts of Ghana.

Regional Outlook:

Coastal Areas:
Accra, Kasoa, and Cape Coast may have a slight chance of thunderstorms.

By afternoon, expect mostly sunny weather with temperatures from 24°C to 32°C.

The evening will likely be partly cloudy to cloudy.

Forest and Middle Belt:
Morning mist is forecast for Koforidua, Akim Oda, Kumasi, and Sunyani.

Thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening with highs around 33°C to 35°C.

Northern Sector:
Tamale, Yendi, and Bole will be mostly sunny during the day.

Temperatures may reach up to 38°C with evening thunderstorms anticipated.

GMet advises residents in storm-prone areas to take precautions.
