The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has released a 24-hour weather forecast. It predicts widespread cloudy conditions today. Localized rainfall and thunderstorms are expected across the country.
This morning, mist and fog patches formed in some areas. These include coastal, forest, and mountainous regions. As a result, the day started off generally overcast nationwide.
Rainfall is likely in some coastal and inland areas this morning. The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy with some sunshine. GMet warns of potential thunderstorms later today.
Thunderstorms may occur in parts of the coastal, middle, transition, and northern sectors from afternoon to evening.
Regional Weather Outlook:
In Southern Ghana, cities like Accra and Takoradi have a 30–60% chance of rain or thunderstorms this afternoon. Morning mist was reported in Koforidua, Axim, and Tarkwa.
In the Middle Belt, places like Kumasi can expect thunderstorms later today. Misty conditions were also noted earlier this morning.
In Northern Ghana, regions such as Tamale will see partly sunny intervals this afternoon. Thunderstorms may develop by evening in Bole and Damongo.
Afternoon temperatures are expected to range from 30°C to 35°C across most areas. Evening temperatures will be cooler, around the mid-20s.
GMet advises everyone to stay updated on real-time weather changes. They recommend taking precautions in areas prone to thunderstorms or reduced visibility due to mist or fog.
