The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has released a 24-hour weather forecast. Residents should prepare for mist and fog in the early morning. Thunderstorms and rain showers are expected from afternoon to evening.
Starting at 6 a.m. today, mist or fog patches will form. This will occur in coastal, mountainous, and forested areas. As the day goes on, most of Ghana will see sunshine with some clouds.
From this afternoon into the evening, thunderstorms and rainfall are likely across the country. Morning temperatures will range from 24 to 38 degrees Celsius. Afternoon highs will be between 26 and 38 degrees Celsius.
In the evening, temperatures will cool to the mid-20s in most areas. In Accra, the capital, mornings will be cloudy with some sunshine later. The temperature may reach a high of 37 degrees Celsius.
Coastal cities like Cape Coast and Takoradi can expect mist this morning. Thunderstorms are likely in these areas during the afternoon and evening.
Northern regions such as Tamale, Yendi, and Bolgatanga will have partly cloudy mornings. They can expect sunny spells in the afternoon followed by thunderstorms later in the day. Highs there will be around 35 to 38 degrees Celsius.
GMet warns that sea conditions are rough. Caution is advised for maritime activities. Residents should take precautions, especially those in flood-prone areas.
