Former Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has called on the NDC government. He wants details about the 24-Hour Economy Policy.
On JoyNews’ AM Show, he expressed concerns about President John Mahama's mixed messages.
He said, “The President says there is a plan and implementation is starting. Then he mentions a draft document to be released on July 1.”
These conflicting statements create uncertainty and lower public confidence.
Mr. Nkrumah urged the government to clarify its position. Clear communication leads to less resistance and more support. It helps Parliament, the media, and the public follow along effectively.
He stressed that a draft should not be seen as a final plan. “A draft means work isn’t complete,” he explained. “You don’t launch a draft; it should be finalized before presentation.”
Releasing an unclear document could hinder the policy’s success. “If what you release on July 1 is for implementation, it must be complete,” he said.
Mr. Nkrumah emphasized his intentions are constructive, not political. “I’m not here just to criticize because I am in opposition,” he stated.
He aims to share lessons learned for better implementation of policies. He concluded by urging the government to communicate clearly for the policy's success.
