A miscommunication regarding the timing of Dr. Edward Omane Boamah’s vetting for the Minister of Defence position caused confusion on Tuesday morning.

The vetting was set to begin at 10 a.m., but when proceedings started, Dr. Omane Boamah was absent.

Alexander Afenyo Markin, the Ranking Member and Minority Leader in Parliament, initially announced a postponement, citing that the Clerk to the Committee had informed the nominee to arrive at 9 a.m.

However, after further clarification, it was revealed that the official invitation to Dr. Omane Boamah had stated 11 a.m.

The discrepancy was due to a phone call from the Clerk, who had mistakenly requested the nominee earlier.

Dr. Omane Boamah arrived shortly after, ahead of the scheduled 11 a.m. time, resolving the confusion.
