Tipper Truck overturns on Accra-Tema motorway, triggers massive gridlock

A severe traffic jam has hit the Accra-Tema Motorway. A tipper truck loaded with stones overturned. This happened in the middle of the motorway. The truck spilled its load and blocked multiple lanes.

The blockage is between the 18 Junction and the 1st Signboard area. Commuters have been stuck in gridlock for over an hour. Vehicles are barely moving in either direction.

Emergency services had not responded to the scene yet. There was no police presence to control traffic congestion.

Both private and commercial drivers are stranded. Many are frustrated by the slow response to the incident. Motorists are advised to avoid this stretch and use alternative routes to reduce delays.
