Togo Repatriates High-Profile Ghanaian Robbery Suspect

Suspect Arrives at KIA via Military Aircraft

The Ghana Police Service has repatriated a wanted armed robbery suspect. Adinda Akpo Abdou Moudjibou was arrested in Togo. He is linked to several high-profile robberies in Accra.

Moudjibou was handed over to Ghanaian authorities on May 14, 2025. The announcement came from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor during a press briefing.

Moudjibou, also known as Mohamed Djandjo and Biya-Kigui, was captured on January 30, 2025. His arrest followed cooperation between INTERPOL Accra and INTERPOL Lomé. He had been on the run since 2024 after his accomplice was arrested in Ghana.

The accomplice, Alidu Marzouk, has multiple aliases including Rashid Bawa and Papa Rich. He was taken into custody on September 4, 2024, and is assisting investigations.

DCOP Donkor stated that Moudjibou was held by Togolese authorities during legal processes. After discussions between Ghana and Togo, he was formally handed over on May 14, 2025.

A five-member delegation led by DCOP Donkor flew from Accra to Lomé to receive him. The handover involved officials from the Ghana Embassy in Togo and the Togolese National Police.

Moudjibou allegedly used various identification documents from Ghana and Togo. An INTERPOL Red Notice for him was issued on September 5, 2024. His crimes reportedly occurred between 2022 and 2024 in affluent neighborhoods like East Legon and Cantonments.

The police intensified their search for Moudjibou after an update on October 3, 2023. This operation followed an agreement signed in Accra in 2003 for police cooperation among West African states.

On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, DCOP Donkor thanked Togolese authorities and INTERPOL for their support. She emphasized the importance of regional cooperation against transnational crime.

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other suspects still at large. “To those still hiding,” she warned, “we are coming for you.”

The Ghana Police Service urges the public to remain vigilant. They reaffirm their commitment to national safety and security.
