The Tontokrom community in the Amansie South District is building an 18-unit classroom block. This project aims to improve education quality in the area.
Kwabena Animounyam, a unit committee member, said the community feels neglected. Successive governments have not provided development projects. As a result, they are using local resources and labor for the school.
They plan to complete the project within 12 months.
Mr. Animounyam emphasized that they will urge the government to focus on Manso Tontokrom's development. He mentioned, "We don't have good roads or health facilities."
He called for support to ensure the project's success and improve education infrastructure.
Community members shared their concerns with Adom News. They expressed worry about ongoing deprivation over the years.
One resident said, "Pregnant women are carried on motorcycles to hospitals due to poor health facilities." They also noted that children lack interest in education because of inadequate school buildings.
Residents hope the NDC government will fulfill its promises for development made during campaigning.
