Traders who refuse to vacate pavements will be subjected to beatings -Kumasi Mayor

Kumasi Mayor Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi has issued a warning to traders. He told them to leave the shoulders of the road. If they do not comply after two weeks, he will take action.

The Mayor does not support traditional policing methods. Instead, he plans to handle the situation himself. He intends to beat any trader who ignores his orders.

Boadi emphasized that Kumasi is Otumfuo's city. He wants to preserve its beauty and order. He believes stubborn traders should face consequences for their actions.

While addressing the press, he stated, "I have my own democratic military style." He warned that if traders refuse to leave, they may be beaten. He mentioned that if he is with his team, they will enforce this rule.

He urged traders to follow the law and avoid trouble. "This is Otumfuo's city," he said. "We must protect its image." The Mayor wants Kumasi to reflect Otumfuo's values.

He expressed frustration with those making his job difficult. If traders continue to resist, they will feel the consequences. Boadi cautioned against blaming him later for these actions.
