Traffic diversions in Accra on January 7 announced ahead of inauguration

The Ministry of Information has announced road closures in Accra on January 7, 2025, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM to ensure a smooth inauguration for President-elect John Mahama.

Closures will impact areas around Parliament House and Independence Square, including Osu Traffic Light to Parliament House, AU Roundabout, and 28th February Road from CEPS Headquarters to Castle Road Junction.

Traffic will be redirected via Salem Avenue, Liberia Road, and other alternate routes to ease congestion.

The Ministry advises motorists to follow security directives and use alternative routes.

Acting Chief Director Lily Fati Soale apologized for the inconvenience, urging cooperation for a successful event.
