An Asankragwa businessman named Isaac Bonnah was killed by a timber truck in Tanokrom.
The incident occurred around 10:20 am on June 6. A trailer loaded with timber lost control while heading towards Fijai. It crashed into a Trotro carrying passengers from Takoradi to Kojokrom.
A Trotro driver described the scene. He said the timber truck was reversing near the Tanokrom Pipeano Traffic light. To avoid it, his Trotro hit the car behind him, but the truck still struck them.
Passengers fled after his mate forced open the door. Eyewitnesses later informed him that one passenger had been run over and killed.
Isaac Bonnah had just moved into his new house at Apowa a day earlier. He lived there with his newly married wife and their two-month-old baby. Relatives said he was heading to Kojokrom to buy tiles for his home when he died.
Bonnah was also the Chairman of the Aowin Municipal Football Association. He served on the Executive Council of the Western Regional Football Association as well. His body has been taken to Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital morgue.
