Transition Team forms 3 subcommittees

The Transition Team overseeing the shift of power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has established three sub-committees in accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845).

These include the Inauguration Sub-Committee, the Government Machinery Sub-Committee, and the Presidency Sub-Committee.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the President-elect's team, noted that more committees may be formed as needed.

Both the outgoing President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, have appointed representatives to the team, which aims to ensure a smooth transfer.

However, concerns were raised over last-minute recruitments and payments, which the President-elect's team has called for greater transparency and scrutiny.

Both sides agreed that these issues will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
