Trust the speaker, not the media – Jantuah Warns amid arrest debate

Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has responded to claims of political intimidation. This follows the attempted arrest of Assin South MP, Reverend John Ntim Fordjour.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Jantuah denied any campaign against individuals. She urged concerned parties to use proper channels instead of going to the media.

“Don’t use the media to discuss your country’s image,” she said. “If you have concerns, trust the Speaker and bring them forward.”

She questioned, “Who would leave a plane with cocaine for five days?” This comment referred to recent controversial events.

Jantuah emphasized that no one is being unfairly targeted. “No one is intimidating anybody,” she stated. She encouraged Fordjour to stand firm and face any challenges.

“If he hasn’t done anything wrong, the truth will come out,” she added.

Regarding broader harassment claims, Jantuah asked, “Who has actually done anything to someone besides Fordjour?” She suggested that his situation is unique.

These comments followed an incident on April 9. Operatives from the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) tried to arrest Rev Fordjour at his home in Accra. This sparked criticism and support from his political allies.
