Two dead, 1 injured in an accident involving a school bus in Kumasi

Two Dead, One Injured After School Bus Crash in Kumasi

Two people died when a school bus crashed into them. The incident occurred on April 8 in Patasi, Kumasi. The victims were talking near a building when the bus lost control.

The deceased are identified as 74-year-old Maame Serwaa and Alfred, a man in his late 40s. One other person sustained serious injuries. Kessben TV reported the details of the accident.

The bus driver claimed he experienced brake failure before the crash. This incident also caused damage to nearby property.

Police and fire officers helped free the victims trapped under the vehicle. The injured person is receiving treatment at Suntreso Government Hospital. Meanwhile, the driver is cooperating with police investigations.

Recent road crashes have raised concerns about safety. On February 28, eight people died on the Bolgatanga-Walewale highway due to a collision between a bus and a parked truck.

In another incident on December 12, three people died at Gomoa Okyereko Junction. Twenty others were critically injured after two buses collided during an overtaking maneuver.

Additionally, seven people died in December following a head-on collision between two buses on the Kumasi-Accra highway. Five passengers from one bus and one from another lost their lives.

Lastly, 15 people were injured in an accident at Kyerewere along the Nsawam-Suhum road due to a burst tyre on their minibus. Three of those injured were in critical condition and required urgent medical attention.
