Two killed in fatal accident on Bole–Damongo Road

A tragic road accident occurred on the Bole–Damongo highway. It resulted in the deaths of a young man and his mother. This news has shocked the local community.

The victims were 23-year-old Dakurah Eyilisun and his mother, Alice Eyilisun. They were involved in the crash on Saturday, May 31, 2025. The accident happened near the Damongo Municipal Assembly in the Savannah Region.

Eyewitnesses reported that a bus was traveling from Bole to Tamale. The bus veered into the path of their motorbike along the roadside.

The collision was forceful and led to Dakurah's immediate death at the scene. His mother suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment.

Chief Inspector Grace Odurowaa Boateng spoke to Channel One TV about the incident. She confirmed that Dakurah was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. “The young man succumbed to his injuries before medical personnel could attend to him,” she said.

Alice Eyilisun was admitted to St. Anne Catholic Hospital in Damongo in critical condition. Despite medical staff's efforts, she later passed away due to her severe injuries.
