Black Satellites head coach Desmond Ofei says Ghana needs better finishing. This is crucial for progressing in Group C at the TotalEnergies U-20 AFCON Egypt 2025.
After Ghana's 1-1 draw with DR Congo, Ofei acknowledged the team's struggles. They lacked the sharpness needed to win the match.
“We should have finished our chances,” he told reporters. “We need to be more clinical in front of goal.”
Ghana took an early lead but missed several scoring opportunities. DR Congo equalized in a closely contested game. Despite this, Ofei felt positive about his team's performance.
“The boys fought hard, and I’m proud of their effort,” he said. “DR Congo were aggressive and tough, so we expected a difficult game.”
In another Group C match, Senegal and the Central African Republic also drew 1-1. Ofei believes this keeps the group wide open. However, he insists Ghana must improve its attack to succeed.
“This is a strong group, and every point counts,” he emphasized. “But we will keep fighting for qualification. We believe in our chances.”
