UAE firms to explore investment in Ghana after high-level talks

Ghana is set to gain new jobs and investment opportunities. This follows talks with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The two countries will deepen cooperation in key sectors. These include renewable energy, artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, aviation, and defense.

Several UAE companies plan to visit Ghana soon. They aim to explore investment opportunities in these areas.

A potential labor export agreement was discussed. This agreement could create job placements for Ghanaian youth in the UAE.

Formal announcements will come after negotiations on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The discussions took place during a two-day visit by a Ghanaian delegation.

The delegation was led by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. A significant outcome was signing an agreement for high-level political consultations between Ghana and the UAE.

These consultations will help advance mutual interests and improve diplomatic relations. During the visit, the delegation met senior Emirati officials.

They included Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan. They also spoke with ministers responsible for foreign trade and investment.

Both governments view this visit as a milestone for bilateral ties. It aims to accelerate economic collaboration between the nations.
