Students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have been encouraged to resist and report all forms of sexual harassment for appropriate action.

Chairperson of the university’s Sexual Harassment Committee, Vanboven Swanzy-Essien, reaffirmed UCC’s commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.

Speaking at a seminar themed “Safe Spaces: Preventing Sexual Harassment on Campus”, he emphasized that sexual harassment is real, reprehensible, and must be resisted. He urged students to support survivors and report offenders.

Panellists, including CEGRAD Director Prof. Eunice Amissah and POS Foundation’s Jonathan Osei Owusu, called for swift action against perpetrators. They stressed that harassment affects all genders and should never be justified.
