The Ministry for the Interior has updated the curfew hours for Binduri Township. This change affects the surrounding areas in the Upper East Region. The new curfew starts on Monday, May 5, 2025.
According to a statement on Facebook, the curfew will run from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily. This adjustment follows advice from the Upper East Regional Security Council. It was enacted through an Executive Instrument.
The curfew aims to maintain peace and order in the region. Binduri has faced intermittent unrest recently.
While enforcing this revised curfew, the government seeks community support. They urge local leaders and residents to promote peace-building efforts.
The statement encourages Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, and Youth to exercise restraint. It also calls for non-violent means to address challenges in the area.
