A three-day training workshop focused on gender-based violence has been held. It targeted critical issues affecting young adolescents' reproductive health. Journalists and media practitioners from the Upper East Region attended.
The Forum for African Women Educators (FAWE) Ghana chapter organized the workshop. Its goal was to equip participants with skills for reporting gender issues. The sensitive nature of these reports was emphasized throughout the training.
This workshop is part of the Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (ASRHR) and Gender Equality (GE) project. FAWE partnered with Right to Play, WaterAid Ghana, and FHI 360 for this initiative. Funding came from Global Affairs Canada.
Emmanuel Tongya Gazari, Senior Field Officer of FAWE Ghana, addressed participants on Wednesday. He highlighted that FAWE prioritizes adolescent development issues. The organization will continue training journalists in gender-sensitive reporting to promote inclusivity and ethical journalism.
