UEW Science Professor killed and secretly buried by unknown assailants at his home

A lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been found dead. Professor Amedeke was reported missing by his family.

His body was discovered buried at his home in Gyahadze. This suburb is located in Winneba, Central Region.

The police made the discovery on Friday, May 17, 2025. They conducted a search after concerns grew about his whereabouts.

Police sources believe the professor was attacked during a robbery. An insider told MyNewsGh that he struggled with the suspect but was overpowered and killed.

One suspect has been arrested and is in police custody. He is assisting with investigations.

After finding the burial site, police exhumed the body. It has been sent to a medical facility for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
