The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has expelled Frank Anderson. He is an MPhil student in the Department of Special Education. Anderson was involved in a fraudulent scheme. This included fake admissions, forged certificates, and falsified academic records.
Investigations showed that Anderson posed as someone who could alter grades. He offered to fix ICs and secure “protocol admissions” for fees between GHS 1,000 and GHS 3,000.
Although he never accessed the official grading system, he deceived students with fake PDFs and WASSCE certificates. His activities mainly took place around Suhum, Mangoase, Nsawam, and Winneba.
Students who paid for grade manipulation or fraudulent admissions have also been withdrawn from the university.
Anderson is currently in jail. He is facing trial at the Winneba High Court for similar offenses.
UEW stated that Anderson acted without the institution’s knowledge or approval. The university remains committed to academic integrity.
Management confirmed they will work with law enforcement to ensure all culprits face legal consequences.
