The University of Ghana (UG) Medical School marked a significant milestone for 280 students with a white coat ceremony, symbolizing their transition from pre-clinical to clinical studies.

The Level 400 students, set to graduate in 2027, were formally robed in the traditional white coat, marking their entry into the medical profession.

Dr. Divine Banyubala, Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council, emphasized the ceremony’s importance in instilling key values such as integrity, compassion, and responsibility in future doctors and dentists.

He reminded students that the white coat is not just a garment but a symbol of the sacred trust they assume in patient care.

Prof. Felix Ankomah Asante, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, urged the students to embrace challenges as opportunities to grow and make meaningful contributions to healthcare.
