The University of Ghana (UG) has refuted claims that it collected over GHS11 million in graduation fees without providing medallions and scroll holders.
In a statement on February 17, UG clarified that the total amount collected was GHS7.88 million, covering essential graduation services.
While all items were included, procurement delays affected the distribution of medallions and scroll holders.
The university had informed graduands of the delay in a prior notice and assured that the items would be provided soon.
UG criticized JoyNews for what it called a misleading report and urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate information.
The institution reaffirmed its commitment to high standards in its graduation ceremonies.
