The University of Ghana has held its third White Coat Ceremony, marking a key transition for 99 Doctor of Pharmacy students into clinical practice.

Themed “Prescription for Change: Reimagining Healthcare,” the event reinforced their commitment to patient welfare and ethical standards.

Addressing the students, NHIA’s Dr. Ruby Aileen Mensah Annan urged them to embrace leadership beyond traditional pharmacy roles, including healthcare financing, telehealth, and policy-making.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Felix Ankomah Asante emphasized technology’s role in modern healthcare, encouraging adaptability.

However, Dean Prof. Isaac Julius Asiedu Gyekye noted that limited infrastructure is restricting admissions, calling for urgent support to expand facilities.

The ceremony highlighted the growing role of pharmacists in shaping the future of healthcare.
