As Ghana marks six years since the tragic murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale, the United Press for Development Network (UPDN) has renewed its call for justice with a petition to President John Dramani Mahama.
Ahmed, a member of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI team, was fatally shot by unknown assailants near his Madina home on January 16, 2019. Despite global outcry, the case remains unsolved, leaving his family, colleagues, and the nation without closure.
The UPDN, led by its president, Rev. Kofi Asante Mensah, submitted the petition on January 15, 2025, urging the government to reexamine the case with renewed vigor.
They emphasize Ahmed’s legacy as a fearless journalist dedicated to uncovering corruption, calling for stronger protections for journalists and public support to demand justice.
