A graduate of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Rashid Ibrahim, has filed a lawsuit to block the inauguration of Professor John Kweku Mensah Mawutor as the university’s next Vice-Chancellor.
The investiture, scheduled for Friday, December 27, faces legal challenges as Ibrahim alleges irregularities in the process leading to Professor Mawutor’s promotion to Associate Professor, claiming it lacked transparency and merit.
Ibrahim contends that these alleged flaws question Professor Mawutor’s eligibility and risk undermining UPSA’s credibility.
Court documents have been served to the university's Registrar, drawing widespread attention from academic and legal circles.
The case's outcome could influence future leadership appointments at the institution.
