The National President of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), Prof. Mahamoud Akudugu, has called on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to clarify how they plan to fund the proposed policy of waiving academic fees for first-year university students if elected.

While acknowledging the potential benefits, Prof. Akudugu expressed concerns about equity and the impact on already strained infrastructure in tertiary institutions.

He suggested that targeted support through bursaries or scholarships might be more effective.
