A group of frustrated nurses in the Upper West Region is speaking out. They are part of the Ghana Nurses and Midwifery Association. The nurses are upset about the regional leadership's silence on a land dispute.
Since 2024, they have sent several petitions to the leadership. These petitions address delays in releasing and allocating purchased lands. Despite their efforts, there has been no resolution.
On April 19, the group held a press conference. They issued a two-week ultimatum to both the association's leadership and a private developer involved in securing the lands.
Dawud Habib, the group's spokesperson, spoke to Citi News on May 5. He mentioned that they plan to meet this week to decide their next steps.
"We have not received any communication," he said. "We will reconvene soon but haven't set a final date yet."
