Ukraine has thanked Ghana for its strong support internationally. This includes backing UN resolutions against Russia’s invasion.
The appreciation came during a phone call. Andriy Yermak, Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, spoke with Prosper Douglas Kweku Bani, Ghana’s National Security Advisor. Ihor Brusylo, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, also joined the conversation.
Yermak called Ghana a vital partner in West Africa. He hopes Ukraine's new embassy in Ghana will strengthen their ties.
He reaffirmed Ukraine's commitment to lasting peace. He noted Russia's efforts to prolong the conflict. A recent missile strike in Kryvyi Rih killed 20 people, including nine children.
They also discussed expanding cooperation in various areas. These include agriculture, food security, digital transformation, transport, and education. Yermak highlighted Ukraine’s role in stabilizing global food supply through its “Grain from Ukraine” initiative.
Both sides agreed to enhance practical cooperation moving forward. This marks another step in Ukraine's diplomatic efforts to gain support from African nations for peace and recovery initiatives.
