Unemployed allied health professionals threaten protest over delayed postings

The Coalition of Unemployed Allied Health Professionals (COUAHP) has issued a warning. They may hold a nationwide demonstration if their concerns are ignored.

These health professionals have faced worsening financial, emotional, and psychological issues. Many have been unemployed since graduating in 2019 from accredited training institutions.

At a press conference in Kumasi on May 26, Hussein Abdul Baaki spoke for the Coalition. He stated they will protest if they do not receive job postings soon.

Baaki noted that several petitions to relevant authorities have gone unanswered. This lack of response shows neglect towards their situation.

The Coalition believes the government prioritizes youth needs but overlooks them. They seek intervention as part of the youthful population.

"Continued neglect threatens public health and social stability," Baaki warned. He emphasized that without action, they will demonstrate for employment rights and dignity.

Baaki also criticized MP Thomas Anabah from Garu in the Upper East Region. He accused Anabah of downplaying the concerns of unemployed Allied Health Professionals.

"We are disappointed by his comments," Baaki said. "Many have waited for postings since 2019." He called for Anabah to retract his statement and apologize publicly.
