Unichem Ghana Group received the Excellence in Wholesale & Distribution Award. This award was presented at the first Pharma Excellence Awards. The event took place at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. It was hosted by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH).
For Unichem, this award represents a significant journey. It reflects their legacy, sacrifice, and commitment to service.
The story began over sixty years ago. Dr. H.D. Mohan founded Unichem with a vision to heal lives. He started with little but built one of West Africa’s top pharmaceutical networks.
Unichem has grown from humble beginnings. It now connects global pharmaceutical giants like Boots and Pfizer to Africa. This has improved healthcare access across the region.
Mr. Jason Nana Yaw Mohan spoke at the ceremony. He is the third-generation leader and Director of Unichem Group. He expressed gratitude for the honor and acknowledged their team’s dedication.
He emphasized collaboration within the pharmaceutical ecosystem, thanking PSGH for their support. Unichem aims to serve with integrity and grow with humility.
Unichem is also advancing in local manufacturing and product innovation. Their facility in Accra produces medicines under license from LUEX Healthcare (UK). This partnership is transforming African pharmaceuticals.
The LUEX portfolio is gaining recognition across Africa for its quality and safety. Products like WORMBAT, DICLOLEX, and LUEX Cough Syrup are trusted by families.
The Pharma Excellence Awards recognized those shaping Ghana’s healthcare future. Health Minister Mr. Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh praised PSGH for supporting local resilience.
Dr. Samuel Kow Donkoh, President of PSGH, called it a pivotal moment for health recognition in Ghana.
Looking ahead, Unichem aims to set new standards in African pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution.
In a continent where access defines survival, Unichem and LUEX show that Africa can lead in healthcare innovation.
