Unity Cup 2025: Cercle Brugge duo Lawrence Agyekum, Abu Francis to join Black Stars camp

Lawrence Agyekum and Abu Francis will play for the Black Stars. They will compete in the 2025 Unity Cup in London later this month.

Their availability was confirmed after their season with Cercle Brugge ended on Friday night.

Agyekum started in the relegation playoff against Patro. Francis came off the bench, marking his 100th appearance for the club.

Agyekum has one cap for the senior national team. He played in a 5-0 win over Chad during World Cup qualifiers.

He was an unused substitute in another match against Madagascar three days later.

Francis has four caps, debuting for Ghana's team in March 2024.

Ghana will face Nigeria on May 28 in their first tournament game. The winner may advance to the final or third-place playoff on May 31.

Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica are also participating teams.
