Unpaid EC contract workers demand compensation for 2024 Election services

Electoral Commission Electoral Commission

Some contract workers engaged by the Electoral Commission (EC) during the 2024 general elections in the Greater Accra Region are demanding payment for their services.

The workers, who were promised GHC600 for their roles in the electoral process, claim they have yet to receive their compensation despite several follow-ups.

Speaking anonymously to Citi News on March 7, an affected worker expressed frustration, stating that multiple attempts to contact EC officials have yielded no response.

“For any job, when you employ someone, you need to pay them immediately after the work is done. The EC must resolve this issue so people don’t keep complaining,” the worker said.

The affected personnel, including presiding officers, verification officers, and ballot issuers, have urged the EC to address the delay and fulfill its obligation.
