Uphold the constitution, no matter whose ass is gored – Amidu Fires at Judiciary

Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has sharply criticized the Chief Justice. He claims her recent legal actions are inappropriate for her position. He urges the Supreme Court to dismiss her actions as an abuse of legal process.

In an open letter, Amidu questioned a supplementary affidavit filed by the Chief Justice. He asked the court to reject it or strike out key sections.

He stated, “Hopefully, the Court will rise above such childlike begging.” He urged them to refuse admission of her affidavit or remove paragraphs 6 to 15. He described those sections as frivolous and an abuse of court process.

Amidu advocates for constitutional integrity. He warned against manipulating the 1992 Constitution for political gain. Justice should not be a performance aimed at protecting those in power.

He emphasized that no citizen should face mockery of justice under the Constitution. Using tricks to abuse power for political interests is unacceptable.

As debates over the Chief Justice's conduct continue, Amidu challenged her supporters. He called on them, including members of Parliament, to provide solid evidence instead of speculation.

“I have heard political conjecture since the removal petitions began,” he said. He noted that there is no factual evidence supporting these claims from various groups.

Amidu expressed willingness to defend the Chief Justice if evidence shows political orchestration behind the petitions. “Let evidence be produced,” he stated, “and I will fight for her against provable injustice.”

Until then, he insists that loyalty to the Constitution must come first. “All patriots have a duty to uphold the Constitution,” Amidu declared.
