Upper West Chiefs urge Mahama to retain Alban Bagbin as Speaker

The Chiefs and people of the Upper West Region have appealed to President-Elect John Dramani Mahama to keep Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin as Speaker of Parliament in the upcoming administration.

In a statement signed by Gbankor Naa Jamaa Matarah II, the Kaleo Traditional Council praised Bagbin for his outstanding leadership, diplomacy, and ability to navigate a hung Parliament.

They also commended his efforts to promote Ghanaian and African cultural heritage.

The chiefs emphasized that Bagbin’s long-standing relationship with Mahama, built on mutual respect, makes him an ideal choice to ensure governance continuity and support Mahama’s vision to "reset Ghana."
