Upper West Police secure conviction of notorious robbers in Wa

The Upper West Regional Police Command has secured the conviction of two robbers. This brings relief to residents of Wa Municipality. They have faced many armed robberies in recent months.

The convicts are Abdulai Ibrahim, 34, and Abdulai Kipo, 36. Ibrahim is a driver’s mate, while Kipo is a butcher. Both were found guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery and multiple robbery counts.

The Wa Circuit Court sentenced Ibrahim to 28 years in prison. Kipo received an 18-year sentence with hard labor. Their crimes affected communities in Napogbakole, Danko, SSNIT, and Konta.

Police arrested them after weeks of intelligence-led operations. The Regional Police Intelligence Directorate gathered detailed evidence for the case.

In a statement, the police expressed satisfaction with the outcome. They emphasized their commitment to public safety and the rule of law.
