Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A Plus, is the MP for Gomoa Central. He shared his thoughts on music during an interview on Channel One TV.
A Plus said he entered music to be heard and influence discussions. He wanted a platform to express his views on politics and governance. "Doing music for me was just to have a voice," he explained.
He is famous for songs that criticize public officials and governance. His popular tracks include "Mframa" from 2012 and "Abɛn Bɛ Bom," released in 2016. "I did all those songs because I wanted to be heard," he reiterated.
A Plus's leadership began before his music and political career. He recalled leading a peaceful protest at Breman Secondary School. This protest aimed to bring electricity to the campus for the first time.
"I organized a demonstration to bring electricity to campus," he said. The school was not connected to the national grid at that time. Local authorities were impressed by the disciplined nature of the protest.
"The District Chief Executive said it was the first time she saw students demonstrate without destruction," A Plus noted.
