Use Easter to fight corruption, illegal mining & LGBTQI – Methodist Bishop

Methodist Church Easter Message

The Most Reverend Professor J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu is the Presiding Bishop of The Methodist Church, Ghana. He urged Christians to renew their mindsets during Easter.

He highlighted social challenges like bribery, corruption, illegal mining, and LGBTQI practices. In his Easter message, he emphasized that this season represents hope and transformation.

Bishop Asamoah-Gyadu also mentioned issues such as water pollution and road carnage. He called for addressing extreme partisanship and other harmful practices against Ghanaian culture.

He described the Easter story as a testament to God's love and redemption. It reminds Christians of Jesus Christ's sacrifice and love.

“The Easter season deepens our relationship with God and each other,” he said. He encouraged Christians to live with hope, trust, and forgiveness.

By renewing our minds, we can overcome fears and insecurities. We should live honestly and dedicate our work to God while spreading peace and love.

During Easter, Christians worldwide celebrate Jesus Christ's life. They reflect on his death and resurrection.

“We remember that Jesus rose from the dead,” he stated. “He walks with us through life.”

On Good Friday, Jesus faced immense suffering. He was betrayed by friends, mocked, falsely accused, tortured, and murdered.

“Truth was crucified that day,” he explained. Despite feeling abandoned, Jesus found comfort in God's presence.

Bishop Asamoah-Gyadu reassured that loneliness cannot separate Christians from God's love. This unwavering love frees us from fear and anxiety.

“May the empty tomb remind us of new life in Christ,” he prayed. He encouraged everyone to embody values of love, compassion, and forgiveness taught by Jesus.

The Presiding Bishop congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on his election victory. He also acknowledged Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s health struggles while offering prayers for her recovery.
