Ibrahim Adjei, a former Assistant Secretary under President Nana Akufo-Addo, has some advice. He encourages the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers and other entrepreneurs to use digital platforms. This will help them communicate price reductions to consumers effectively.
Adjei spoke on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on May 19. He praised the Spare Parts Dealers Association for their decision to lower prices. However, he stressed the importance of strategic communication.
"It’s a welcome call," he said. "But individuals at Abossey Okai must take heed." He added that those who lower prices and communicate well will benefit.
He suggested that dealers use social media to announce their prices and locations. "If I trust you, I can send someone to pick up the item," he explained.
Adjei also urged all entrepreneurs to leverage digital tools for marketing. Highlighting price advantages can lead to quicker sales. "Use the digital space to outdo your competitors," he advised.
The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association announced a price reduction on May 18. This decision responds to the Ghana cedi's appreciation against the US dollar. The Association aims to provide relief for customers and support economic stabilization efforts by the government under President John Dramani Mahama.
