V/R: Five bodies exhumed in Amefinukope, heads missing

Residents of Amefinukope in the Ketu South Municipality are shocked. They discovered five exhumed bodies in two local cemeteries. Parts of the corpses, especially the heads, are missing.

This distressing incident happened on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

Community leader Mr. Kwashi Senaya reported that the graves were desecrated. There was visible damage at the head end of each grave. “The heads of the deceased were gone,” he stated. The affected cemeteries belong to the Amefinu and Kponor families.

The Ghana Police Service has been notified at Agbozume Police Station. Authorities have launched a full investigation into this heinous act.

Assembly Member Ibrahim Ayuba has called for calm among residents. He urged them to cooperate with law enforcement agencies. He also encouraged community members to share any helpful information.

As the investigation continues, fear and outrage grip the community. Many residents are left with unanswered questions about this grave desecration.
