Eric Edem Agbana, the MP for Ketu North in the Volta Region, is worried about ongoing chieftaincy disputes and land issues. He believes these problems hinder development in the area.
While addressing local leaders during the confirmation of MCE nominee Rev Martin Amenaki, he urged traditional leaders to unite. He emphasized that they should rise above disputes to focus on community interests.
Agbana stated that unrest and litigation are affecting development efforts. Political authorities struggle to implement projects without being seen as biased.
He noted that unresolved chieftaincy disputes complicate attracting investors and initiating infrastructure projects. The community needs roads, schools, water, and jobs.
Agbana called on chiefs in conflict areas to find resolutions. He promised to work closely with the new MCE to improve the area's economy.
"As your MP, I will do everything possible for our constituency," he said. He stressed that unity among chiefs is essential for Ketu North's development.
