Vanderpuye demands Afenyo-Markin presents Ntim Fordjour to NIB today

The National Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has issued an ultimatum. He demands that Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin present Rev. John Ntim Fordjour to the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) by 10:00 a.m. today, April 10.

Vanderpuye warned that failure to comply would result in security forces forcibly removing Fordjour from his home. This follows an attempted arrest of Rev. Fordjour on Wednesday at his residence. The attempt was related to allegations about two suspicious aircraft at Kotoka International Airport.

Fordjour's claims suggested links to drug trafficking and money laundering. However, the operation was called off without any official explanation.

In a Thursday interview with Channel One TV, Vanderpuye explained the situation further. He said the operation was suspended after Afenyo-Markin made a plea. The Minority Leader assured National Security he would voluntarily present Rev. Fordjour by the deadline.

Vanderpuye emphasized that an agreement existed between Afenyo-Markin and government officials for cooperation from Minority caucus members required by National Security. He urged Afenyo-Markin to honor this commitment and present Ntim Fordjour for questioning.

“It is necessary for peace,” Vanderpuye stated. He added that someone must advise Ntim Fordjour and expressed hope that Afenyo-Markin would take action today. By 10:00 a.m., he must ensure Fordjour is presented for questioning so everyone can have peace, Vanderpuye stressed.
