Vice President of Ghana, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, spoke at the swearing-in ceremony for the new Ghana Armed Forces Council. The event took place on Monday, March 24, at the Defence Ministry.
She assured the public that the Council will work hard to strengthen the military. The Vice President highlighted their commitment to national service.
“As a Council, we accept our responsibility,” she said. “We will serve diligently and with loyalty.” She emphasized their goal of resetting Ghana and its Armed Forces for peace and stability.
Opoku-Agyemang also stressed the importance of maintaining the military's reputation. She stated they aim to uphold this reputation both locally and internationally. “We want to ensure that the Ghana Armed Forces retains and extends its global standing,” she affirmed.
