Verify facts before making misleading statements – MoE to WAEC PRO

The Ministry of Education has urged West African Examinations Council's (WAEC) Public Relations Officer to verify facts before making public statements that could mislead or undermine its efforts.

This comes after Minister for Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum assured journalists that the 2024 WASSCE results would be released by December 29, citing a GH₵25 million disbursement to WAEC.

However, WAEC dismissed the claim, stating no additional funds beyond the GH₵25 million received on December 18 had been issued, delaying result processing.

The Ministry countered with documents confirming financial commitments totaling GH₵167.9 million since July.

Both parties called for calm as they work towards the release of the results.
