Vetting for six hours is a "bloody waste of time" - Kwesi Pratt

Kwesi Pratt Jnr., Managing Editor of The Insight newspaper, has criticized the excessive time spent during the vetting process of ministerial nominees by Parliament’s Appointments Committee.

He argues that the prolonged questioning, like the six-hour session with Finance-designate Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is a waste of time and resources.

In a recent panel discussion on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’, Pratt emphasized that the vetting process should focus solely on assessing nominees’ qualifications, rather than dragging out into lengthy and unnecessary sessions.

He also noted the cost implications for TV stations that air these proceedings live, stating that prolonged vetting sessions are unproductive for both Parliament and the public.
