Ghana's Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has made history. She is now the first female Chairperson of the Ghana Armed Forces Council.
She was sworn in on Monday, March 24, at the Presidency. The ceremony included other members of the Council.
The new members are Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, Daniel Addo, Fuseini Iddrisu, and Nancy Dakwa Ampofo.
The Ghana Armed Forces Council oversees military operations. It also provides strategic advisory support.
