Vice President Opoku-Agyemang has recovered, she's set to resume duties – Mahama

President John Mahama announced that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will return to Ghana. She has fully recovered from a recent illness.

During his 'Thank You Tour' in Dodowa, he expressed relief and gratitude for her health. He confirmed that she is ready to resume her official duties.

“I spoke to her yesterday morning,” he said. “She will be back before the end of next week. By God’s grace, she is fully recovered.”

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang fell ill on March 28, 2025. She sought medical attention at the University of Ghana Medical Centre the next day.

Following medical advice, she began a three-week medical leave on April 7, 2025. She traveled abroad for further treatment as a precaution.

Her return is expected to boost government business. She will resume her responsibilities after this period of rest and recuperation.
